After studying literature and humanities in preparatory classes and at the Sorbonne (CELSA), V\u00e9ronique Sanders began a career as a consultant with Publicis between Prague and Paris. In 1997, to perfect her knowledge of wine, she took the DUAD diploma (Dipl\u00f4me Universitaire d’Aptitude \u00e0 la D\u00e9gustation) at the Bordeaux Faculty of Oenology. <\/p>\n\n
In 1998, following the sale of Ch\u00e2teau Haut-Bailly by her grandfather, Jean Sanders, Robert G. Wilmers entrusted her with the position of property manager. Thanks to the opportunity to manage a great Bordeaux growth, she rediscovered the passion that had driven her since childhood. <\/p>\n\n
For the past 25 years, she has overseen every stage of the wine’s life, from the vineyard to blending, right through to marketing, where her job is to make Haut-Bailly appreciated the world over. She manages the estate in a spirit of family continuity, with a renewed dynamism thanks to Robert Wilmers’ major investments. Her aim: to maintain the excellence of Haut-Bailly wines and perpetuate their elegance with ever-greater respect for the environment. <\/p>\n\n
In 2000, she was appointed President and CEO of Ch\u00e2teau Haut-Bailly.<\/p>\n\n
A member of the Board of Directors of the Commanderie du Bontemps de M\u00e9doc, Graves, Barsac and Sauternes, as well as the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux and the Acad\u00e9mie du Vin de Bordeaux, V\u00e9ronique Sanders is deeply involved in the world of wine. Between 2006 and 2009, she was the first woman to be appointed President of the Union des Crus Class\u00e9s de Graves. She was awarded the insignia of Chevalier de l’Ordre National du M\u00e9rite in September 2011 and Chevalier de la L\u00e9gion d’Honneur in 2024.
