Born in 1968 in Strie, a wine-growing region in southern Austria, Eva spent her childhood in the United States and Paris.<\/p>\n\n
She later attended the Ecole h\u00f4teli\u00e8re de Lausanne and then worked in the hotel industry in Berlin, Mexico, London and Vienna as a sales manager.<\/p>\n\n
During these working years she met her future husband Michael Moosbrugger. The family has three grown-up children. <\/p>\n\n
Eva Moosbrugger and her husband have been running the Schloss Gobelsburg winery together for over 28 years. The Cistercian estate is located in the heart of Austria’s Kamptal wine-growing region in Lower Austria. It looks back on a long history of over 850 years, and has preserved and perfected its know-how over the years. The estate is renowned for its cultivation of noble grape varieties such as Gr\u00fcner Veltliner and Riesling. The wines produced by the estate are renowned for their elegance and authentic character. Two-thirds of production is exported. <\/p>\n\n
The winery’s main philosophy is to respect tradition and work in harmony with nature, giving priority to natural, artisanal methods.<\/p>\n\n
Schloss Gobelsburg is a member of the Association of Traditional Austrian Winegrowing Estates, founded in 1992 with the aim of introducing vineyard classification. This goal was finally achieved in 2023. Austria is the first country after France to introduce legal vineyard classification. <\/p>\n\n
