Carl von Schubert comes from a family that has owned the Maximin Gr\u00fcnhaus family estate in Mertesdorf, in the valley of the Ruwer, a tributary of the Moselle, since 1882. This historic winery has been in the von Schubert family for over a century. <\/p>\n\n
Maximin Gr\u00fcnhaus is a very old vineyard, first documented in 966 AD.It was donated by Emperor Otto I to the Benedictine monastery of St. Maximin in Trier.
