Frans studied at the University of Ghent in Belgium.\nFrom an early age, Frans began collecting wines, which enabled him to organize tastings of old wines. <\/p>\n\n
For his 50th birthday, he organized a vertical tasting of 57 vintages of Petrus.\nTwo years later, he organized a vertical tasting of 67 vintages of Yquem, in the presence of Alexandre de Lur Saluces.\nHe will never forget the horizontal tasting of the 1961 vintage. <\/p>\n\n
Frans also organized Mouton Rothschild tastings at Le Taillevent in Paris, in tribute to Baron Philippe, in the presence of Baroness Philippine de Rothschild.<\/p>\n\n
He also remembers a vertical tasting of Belgian wines in VANDERMEULEN bottles, in the presence of Michael Broadbent (Bordeaux and Burgundy), as well as a tasting of the great Bordeaux wines of 1982 with William Kelley.<\/p>\n\n
