Jean-Andr\u00e9 passed his baccalaureate in 1962, entered H.E.C. in 1964 and graduated in 1967 after an internship at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. <\/p>\n\n

He did his military service in Tunisia as a hotel manager in Skanes. <\/p>\n\n

On March 1, 1969, he arrived at Baumani\u00e8re, at the request of his grandfather Raymond Thuilier.\nHe started out in management and administration. <\/p>\n\n

From 1970, he worked in the dining room, and since 1973 in the kitchen. <\/p>\n\n

By this time, he was working with some of the greats: TROISGROS, CHAPEL, HAEBERLIN, BOCUSE, GIRARDET… <\/p>\n\n

Jean-Andr\u00e9 CHARIAL has been a chef since 1980 and became CEO in 1993 (on the death of his grandfather). <\/p>\n\n

Winegrower: creation of a vineyard “Ch\u00e2teau Romanin” in 1988 in association with Mr. Peyraud (Appellation les Baux de Provence) and manager of the estate until 2002. <\/p>\n\n

He then pursued the principle of Biodynamics at Domaine de Lauzi\u00e8res, where 5,000 bottles of “Affectif”, his new wine made from old Grenache grapes, are produced.\nThe name of this red wine came from a conversation with his friend Wolinski about the French Prime Minister.\n“Raffarin, he runs on affectif…” Wolinski is quoted as saying.\nSeizing the opportunity, he used the term to describe the first vintage of his new wine. <\/p>\n\n
