{"id":1877,"date":"2024-05-16T10:55:14","date_gmt":"2024-05-16T08:55:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/academievin.org\/membre\/jean-philippe-delmas\/"},"modified":"2024-09-20T15:07:37","modified_gmt":"2024-09-20T13:07:37","slug":"jean-philippe-delmas","status":"publish","type":"member","link":"https:\/\/academievin.org\/en\/membre\/jean-philippe-delmas\/","title":{"rendered":"Jean-Philippe Delmas"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>For a century, the Delmas family has been closely linked to Ch\u00e2teau Haut-Brion, and Jean Philippe Delmas, under the guidance of the Dillon family, represents the<sup>3rd<\/sup> generation of winemakers.<\/p>\n\n<p>In 1923, the first milestone was reached: Georges Delmas (grandfather of Jean-Philippe Delmas) became steward of the estate.  <\/p>\n\n<p>In 1935, two major milestones in the history of Haut-Brion were reached:  <\/p>\n\n<p>The arrival of the Dillon family on the property, with Clarence Dillon&#8217;s acquisition of Ch\u00e2teau Haut-Brion, and the birth of Jean-Bernard Delmas, the second generation, on the Haut-Brion estate.  <\/p>\n\n<p>With the confidence of Clarence Dillon&#8217;s children, Dorothy and Clarence Douglas, Jean-Bernard Delmas took over from his father with the 1961 vintage, his soul imbued with this premier grand cru where he grew up.<\/p>\n\n<p>Under the presidency of Clarence Douglas Dillon&#8217;s daughter Joan, Duchesse de Mouchy, Jean-Bernard Delmas will produce some forty vintages.<\/p>\n\n<p>After studying oenology in Bordeaux, his son Jean-Philippe Delmas began working on the estate in 1994, drawing on his experience in different wine-growing regions of the world.  <\/p>\n\n<p>In 2001, he was appointed Deputy COO, overseeing Ch\u00e2teaux Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion (acquired in 1983).<\/p>\n\n<p>In 2004, after 10 years of passing on his passion and knowledge, Jean-Philippe Delmas took over from his father as Managing Director, when HRH Prince Robert of Luxembourg, son of the Duchess of Mouchy, became President of the family-owned Domaine Clarence Dillon in 2008.  <\/p>\n\n<p>In 2011, Jean-Philippe Delmas was appointed Managing Director of Domaine Clarence Dillon and the new subsidiary Quintus s.a.s (Saint-Emilion vineyard acquired the same year).<\/p>\n\n<p>Jean-Philippe Delmas has also been a member of the Acad\u00e9mie Internationale du Vin since 2000, and his other responsibilities include :<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211; Vice-President of the Syndicat Viticole de Pessac-L\u00e9ognan from March 2005 to March 2020.<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211; Presidency of the Union des Crus Class\u00e9s de Graves from March 2009 to March 2012, of which he remains Vice-Chairman.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","member_country":[95],"member_affiliation":[89],"class_list":["post-1877","member","type-member","status-publish","hentry","member_country-france-en","member_affiliation-production-en"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Jean-Philippe Delmas | Acad\u00e9mie Internationale du Vin<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/academievin.org\/en\/membre\/jean-philippe-delmas\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_US\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"Jean-Philippe Delmas | Acad\u00e9mie Internationale du Vin\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"For a century, the Delmas family has been closely linked to Ch\u00e2teau Haut-Brion, and Jean Philippe Delmas, under the guidance of the Dillon family, represents the3rd generation of winemakers.
