Alexander van Beek

General Manager of Château Giscours and Caiarossa.

Graduating with an MBA in Finance in 1995 at the age of 24, Alexander arrived at Château Giscours in September of that year for a few weeks of harvesting. Eric Albada-Jelgersma, President of S.E. Château Giscours, asked him to stay on to develop ambitious projects. To perfect his wine knowledge, Alexander attended a training course at the Bordeaux Institute of Oenology.

In 1998, Eric Albada Jelgersma entrusted him with the management of Château Giscours and then Château du Tertre (sold in 2021), two Grands Crus Classés in the Margaux appellation.

Since 2004, the Albada Jelgersma family has owned a winery in Italy, Caiarossa, located in the heart of the Val di Cecina on the Tuscan coast, for which Alexander is also responsible for management.

Alexander is committed to making his estates shine all over the world. He also sits on the boards of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux, the Commanderie du Bontemps, the Conseil des Grands Crus Classés en 1855 and the Syndicat de Margaux.

He is Treasurer of the Bordeaux Wine Academy and a member of the International Wine Academy.
