Andreas Keller

Born in Zurich in 1950, Andreas Keller studied German language and art history before devoting himself entirely to wine. For him, wine is a central cultural asset of the West, which must be seen in the context of its entire cultural and historical heritage.

From its inception in 1980, he worked as editor and then editor-in-chief of Vinum magazine, which soon became a leading international wine magazine. During this period, he published many highly acclaimed articles, notably on the wines of France and Switzerland.

From 1989 to 1991, he was director of the DIVO wine club in Lausanne, an initiative of Geneva journalist Constant Bourquin, founder of the Académie Internationale du Vin. In 1992, he founded his own Weininformation press office in Zurich. For 15 years, his main task was to publish the oenogastronomic magazine marmite. At the same time, he was in charge of organizing the Lanson Champagne Prize for journalists, as well as public relations for wines from Valais, Vaud, German-speaking Switzerland, Alto Adige and Austria.

For many years, he also taught wine geography at the Zürcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften. In 2002, together with three other wine journalists, he founded the Mémoire des Vins Suisses association, with the aim of securing Swiss quality wines a place in the international concert of noble wines.

In 2011, he founded the events agency Swiss Wine Connection GmbH, which aims to promote the reputation of Swiss wine nationally and internationally through tastings, wine competitions and publications of all kinds. The company is primarily responsible for organizing Swiss Wine Tasting, the largest exhibition of Swiss wines, which takes place every year in Zurich.
