Daniele Cernilli
Daniele Cernilli, managing director of DoctorWine and director-curator of the Guida Essenziale ai Vini d'Italia by DoctorWine, is an internationally renowned wine critic. Ten years ago, he created the web magazine DoctorWine, the fruit of his forty years of experience. Journalist and wine critic (co-founder of Gambero Rosso in 1986, curator of Guida Vini d'Italia for 24 editions, director of Gambero Rosso magazine, TV character on Gambero Rosso Channel, and contributor to several national media, including L'Assaggiatore de l'Onav - Organisation Nationale des Dégustateurs de Vin), he is also a lecturer and teacher on professional tasting and sensory analysis courses. A writer, he is the author of several books, including I racconti (e i consigli) di Doctor Wine (Einaudi 2014) and Memorie di un assaggiatore di vino (Einaudi 2006).
Since 2014, in collaboration with a team of selected tasters and journalists, he has published the 2015 and 2016 editions of Guida Essenziale ai Vini d'Italia with Mondadori, as well as the 2017 to 2021 editions with MD Communication. Since 2012, he has also been an official taster at the Decanter Wine World Awards (DWWA). In 2015, he was selected for inclusion in the Wine Writers' Hall of Fame of the Wine Media Guild of New York, and in the past, he has featured in British magazine Decanter 's ranking of the 50 most influential people in the wine world (2007-2008-2009). Since 2019, he has been Chairman of 5Stars - The Book at Vinitaly International.
