Dominique Lafon
Dominique Lafon trained in viticulture and oenology (BTS viti-oeno) at the Lycée Viticole de Beaune from 1978 to 1980.
After a 6-month internship in California, he worked for 4 years with Becky Wasserman, selecting and exporting fine wines to Anglo-Saxon and Asian markets, from 1981 to 1986.
In 1986, he took over management of Domaine des Comtes Lafon in Meursault. Today, this 17-hectare family estate produces 90,000 bottles of Meursault and Volnay crus.
The estate made the transition to organic and biodynamic farming between 1995 and 1998.
In 1999, with the family partners of Domaine des Comtes Lafon, he acquired and developed SARL Héritiers du Comtes Lafon at Milly-Lamartine in the Mâconnais. Today, the estate boasts 30 ha of vines and produces 200,000 bottles of Mâconnais crus.
In 2008, he launched SAS Dominique Lafon in his own name, a company that manages 4 ha of vineyards in the Côte de Beaune, to which he adds the status of négociant.
He acts as consultant in Oregon for Evening Land Vineyard from 2007 to 2014, then for Lingua Franca from 2015 to 2023.
Retired from the two family estates, he still works for SAS Dominique Lafon.
