The Chave family have been winegrowers from father to son since 1481.
Gérard and his son Jean-Louis manage a 12-hectare estate dedicated to Hermitage. The reputation of these wines has long extended beyond Europe's borders, thanks to meticulous work both in the vineyard (organically grown without certification) and in the cellar. The grapes are always harvested late to ensure perfect ripeness, while in the cellar, each terroir is vinified and matured separately to ensure the best possible blending.
The main grape varieties grown are Syrah for red wines and Marsanne and Roussanne for white wines.
