Guillaume d'Angerville, born in 1956 (aged 67), is owner-manager of Domaine Marquis d'Angerville in Volnay, Côte de Beaune, which has been in his family since 1804. He took over the estate in 2003, on the death of his father Jacques, after a long career in international finance, mainly with J.P. Morgan. In 2012, Guillaume d'Angerville created Domaine du Pélican in Montigny-lès-Arsures, near Arbois (Jura), on some 15 hectares planted with the five Jura grape varieties.
Guillaume d'Angerville was President Delegate of the Association des Climats du vignoble de Bourgogne alongside Aubert de Villaine during the UNESCO World Heritage candidacy, and then President of the Association after the inscription obtained in July 2015, from 2015 to 2020.
He is the grandson of Sem d'Angerville, a founding member of the Institut National des Appellations d'Origine (I.N.A.O.) and one of the precursors of estate bottling. Jacques d'Angerville, Guillaume's father, was President of the Académie du Vin de France and a member of the Académie Internationale du Vin for many years.
Guillaume d'Angerville has been President of the Académie Internationale du Vin since December 2023.
He is married with four children. He is a graduate of the Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales (ESSEC) and holds a Technician's Diploma in Oenology.
