Jasper Morris MW

Jasper was born in Hampshire in 1957, into a family that didn't drink wine.

After studying modern history at Oxford University, Jasper decided not to follow the family tradition of going into the legal profession, but to seek employment in the wine business. He then opened his own import house, Morris & Verdin Ltd, becoming a specialist in Burgundy wines as well as wines from California, New Zealand and Spain. Jasper became Master of Wine in 1985.

In 2003 he sold Morris & Verdin to Berry Bros & Rudd, with whom he remained until 2017, handling all Burgundy business for this traditional fine wine merchant. With them, he published the first edition of his book, Inside Burgundy, whose two editions in 2010 and 2021 woń the prestigious Prix André Simon. Since 2018 he has been in charge of his Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy. Between 2016 and 2023 he takes on the role of consultant for the Hospices de Beaune Wine Sale, with Christie's and then Sotheby's.
