Born in Haro, La Rioja in 1968. She studied law and theology at the University of Deusto, Bilbao. However, her main ambition was to follow the family winery, of which she is the fourth generation. After graduating, she spent 2 years studying viticulture and oenology at the University of La Rioja, obtaining a degree in viticulture and oenology in 1993.
Her main area of research was the Graciano grape variety. In 2000, she became managing director of her family business. She prides herself on preserving the traditional vineyard and winemaking methods of her predecessors, and crafting wines with a personality that hasn't changed since 1877, when her great-grandfather began.
She is a member of several wine and social contribution associations both within and outside Rioja.
