Michael Schuster

Michael Schuster is an internationally recognized expert in wine tasting, writing and teaching, with over 30 years' experience. He honed his tasting skills in Bordeaux, where he obtained the Diplôme Universitaire de Dégustation. In the early 1980s, he played a key role in setting up an award-winning wine sales company. Since 1986, he has worked independently as a writer and lecturer, running his own wine school in North London with his wife Monika, a chef trained at Le Cordon Bleu.

Schuster is a regular contributor to "The World of Fine Wine" magazine, for which he writes the annual Bordeaux en primeur report. His highly acclaimed book, "Essential Winetasting", won all three major UK wine book awards in 2001.

In 2002, he was elected to the Académie Internationale du Vin, reflecting his stature in the wine world. Schuster has also worked as a consultant for BI Wines & Spirits, one of the UK's leading wine merchants, and contributed to the wine list of London's private club 5 Hertford Street.

Its wine school, Winewise, is renowned for offering top-level tasting courses, attracting amateurs and professionals alike keen to deepen their oenological knowledge.
