At the age of 18, Quim began studying architecture at the University of Barcelona - which he never completed - and at the same time began working in the grocery store founded by his grandfather in 1932, selling cheeses, hams and good bottles of wine.
In 1994, Quim opened Vila Viniteca, a new wine store just opposite the historic grocery store, and coinciding with the wine revolution of the 90s in Spain, began distributing wines to restaurants.
Vila Viniteca is currently one of Europe's leading distributors and importers of fine wines. With over 11500 references of wines and spirits in stock, it represents on an exclusive basis over 400 wineries from all over the world.
Today, Quim Vila runs the business with passion and dedication, promoting wine culture, participating in wine production with various Spanish wineries and organizing wine and food tastings. He is a member of numerous wine and gastronomy brotherhoods and associations.
Vila Viniteca has collaborated on research and development projects, such as with the ElBullifoudation on the development of Sapiens du Vin.
