Roberto de La Mota
After spending his youth at the Arizu winery in Mendoza (his father was an oenologist and Technical Director), Roberto graduated as an Agricultural Technician and Oenologist, then as an Agricultural Engineer at the Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias of the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza.
In 1985 he worked at Bodega y Cavas de Weinert in Mendoza.
In 1988 - 1989 Roberto specializes in Viti - Œno and passes the Diplôme National d'Œnologue at the École Nationale Supérieure Agronomique de Montpellier.
In 1989, he imported welded grafted vine plants from Pépinière Gillibert in Argentina. A year later, Roberto was appointed Vineyard Manager for Bodegas Chandon in Mendoza, Argentina (LVMH Group), where he remained until 2006.
In 1996 Roberto created the Bodega Terrazas de los Andes company and in 2000, with Pierre Lurton, the association with Château Cheval Blanc: Cheval des Andes.
In 2004, with partners from Buenos Aires, he established the Mendel Wines winery in Mendoza, and in 2009 Revancha Vinos.
In 2008, he helped create Allegria wines in Caux, Languedoc Roussillon.
In 2010 Roberto was appointed Vice-President of Wines of Argentina, and in 2012 he joined the International Wine Academy.
In 2014 he set up Compagnie Aramon SA, responsible for importing and distributing Groupe Chêne et Cie (Taransaud, Kadar and Canton barrels in Argentina).
In 2021 Roberto was appointed President of the "Denominación de Origen Luján de Cuyo" (Denomination of Origin worked on by his father in 1989-91).
