Serena Sutcliffe

Serena has been a Master of Wine since 1976, and is a member of the Education Committee, Examining Board and President of the Institute of Masters of Wine. She is also a wine broker and consultant with her husband David Peppercorn M.W.

Serena has written numerous books on champagne, Burgundy wines and tasting, among others, and has traveled the globe as a speaker.

Appointed Head of Sotheby's Wine Department in 1991, she led a profound global expansion of its activities, with auctions becoming increasingly international. Today, she is Honorary Chairman of Sotheby's Wine and a consultant to its international wine department.

A Chevalier in the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, Serena was made a Chevalier in the Ordre National de la Légion d'Honneur in 2006.
