Ton Mata
Ton Mata Moliner (Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, Barcelona 1970) is a technical agricultural engineer from the Faculty of Oenology at Tarragona's Rovira et Virgili University. He also holds a master's degree in viticulture and oenology from the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. He continued his training
at the Navarre Viticulture and Oenology Station (EVENA) and, a few years later, at Veuve Clicquot in Champagne. He also completed an MBA at the Faculty of Telecommunications Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Madrid and followed the Family Business Management Program at EADA.
In 1996, he joined Recaredo, bringing new ideas and energy to move forward and learn, while the second generation, his father and uncle, shared their experience and "know-how" with him. In 2000, he took over the technical management of the estate, and in 2010, Ton Mata became Managing Director of Recaredo. Nine years later, in 2019, he took over as CEO.
It was then that general management was professionalized in the hands of Ferran Junoy and, in 2021, the first steps were taken for the company to work in a self-management organizational style, ceding the importance and leadership of decision-making to the members of the Recaredo team.
Today, Ton Mata combines his duties as CEO of Recaredo with his intimate, personal project the Bufadors estate, based on the production of minimally-intervention wines and Corpinnats seeking the most radical expression of terroir.
