An exceptional trip to the Mendoza region, organized by Roberto de la Mota, Academy member and owner of the Mendel winery.
Under radiant skies and surrounded by breathtaking scenery, dominated by the majestic snow-capped mountains of the Andes, the members visited some fifteen prestigious wineries and tasted wines from numerous other houses.
These include: Cheval des Andes, Trapiche, Mendel, Norton, Terrazas de los Andes, O. Fournier, Salentein, Clos de los Siete, Catena Zapata and Susana Balbo.
Each visit was enriched by sumptuous meals after the tastings.
Members were able to appreciate the exceptional quality of the wines and understand the importance of the Malbec grape for the reds, as well as the need for irrigation in this arid climate at over 1,000 meters altitude.
